MMI History  Russian Expatriate communities

After graduating from the Institute in 1994 (which at that time was known as Military Academy for Economics, Finance and Law) Dmitry Tarasov accepted an offer to immediately retire from military service within the framework of the Russian Government program to reduce the Armed Forces (with the rank of  lieutenant).

In 1995 he relocated to Cambodia. In 1995-1997 he worked as Instructor of English at a vocational school in Phnom Penh. Then for some time in 1997-1998 he was holding two jobs: Proving Range Manager and Commercial Representative for Glock (Austrian company). His responsibilities in the latter included supplying government agencies of Cambodia with health care products.

In 1998-1999 he worked as Security and Business Development manager for a Swiss company doing business locally (Sovereign Associates Co. Ltd.). His next stop was one international company (Weyburn Holding Co. Ltd.), where his employment lasted 2 years. As of the fall of 2001 he is Manager with an employment agency in Phnom Penh and is planning to relocate to another country during the next five years.
