Elena Badamiants (Meshkicheva) graduated from the School of Western Languages in 1990 with German and English languages. She got discharged from the army in 1991 as lieutenant. She then worked with ALM Consulting/Frere Cholmeley Bischoff as External relations lead manager until 1993. Her projects during that period included issuance of European bonds by KomiTek Oil, one of the Russian oil companies, consulting a number of German banks starting up operations in Russia, Escada (international clothes designer) startup in Russia, and merger of Russian operations of ALM Consulting with Frere Cholmeley Bishoff, an international law firm. The merged company in 2001 was acquired by Eversheds law firm, www.eversheds.com.

 

She then took a one-year break and studied at the Moscow University of International Relations, School of Business (www.mgimo.ru). She earned her Bachelor’s in Science, Economics, majoring in International Trade, in November 1994.

 

During 1994-1996 she is Associate with Equity Capital Markets Group (Corporate Finance Division) of Swiss Bank Corporation/SBC Warburg/ UBS, London (www.ubs.com). She continues consulting KomiTek Oil and another Russian oil company, Sidanco. She was also involved in restructuring Ukraine’s debt to Russia for natural gas shipments.

 

Starting 1996 and through 1997 she is Advisor, International Hotel Department, Knight Frank International, London (www.knightfrank.co.uk), working on a number of projects in hospitality industry. In 1997 she joined Rosneftegazstroy Corporation (www.rngs.ru), a restructured former primary contractor for oil and gas industry construction in Russia. She is currently Managing Director, International Affairs, and in this capacity worked on Caspian Pipeline Consortium and other large-scale projects.
